Reply:Do you have your port folio on line for people to see your work. Advertise in paper, I guess. Word of mouth. I am sure someone out there will have better advice than what I can give. Working from home usually relies on word of mouth from the people who have already used you for their logos etc. If your work is really good then it should be pretty easy to get more work that way.

Reply:I was a sign painter for 35 years--I lettered anything from boats to vehicles and also did gold leaf on fire engines. My talent developed over the years and I gradually increased my hourly rate as my scope of abilities grew. I was getting 75 to 100 dollars an hour--but I was fast, and honest. Now I do illustrating for magazines, the post office, and one of a kind artwork for a select clientelle. I do Norman Rockwell style work. I still get 1000 dollars an hour plus supplies. The down payment I require will cover the job in case I have a non paying person---that does happen. You are doing artwork and not everyone can do it--so don't be afraid to charge your price. For a business, the art costs are the cost of doing business---all businesses need art and signs. See what other area shops are charging--you need to stay up with them--otherwise you will have issues with them.....they may feel you are deliberately undercutting them for the business, ....NOT A GOOD REPUTATION to have. I worked on a cash basis--no checks--no claims to my taxes--I am also a professional firefighter---my art is done on my days off.....the money was spending cash for fun. You need it for living--so get that business going strong.

How do i create business cards with ms word?
I am looking to create business cards with MS Word. I have MS Word 2000 and I just need to know how to create business cards with that. I need a template or simply a size for how to arrange it on the page. Also, if there is an easier way to create business cards, I would love to know. Thanks for any help you could supply.

Create Business Cards in Word
Reply:tell me how once u find out.
Reply:Use a business card template available on multiple sites. This is the one on Microsoft.
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templa...
Reply:WORD is great if you really control it,
Decide the required size (Width and Height) of the card, as business card its about (9 cm x 5 cm)
you can use Drawing tool bar to create Text Box of that size, and you can adjust the size later by right click then Format Text Box, this is useful if the BC is text only
Or you can use Rectangle tool and draw rectangle with the proper size and put inside it text boxes and other rectangles for pictures or logos as instance.

Are small business credit cards hard to qualify for?
I am about to start my own LLC and need a small line of credit. Instead of trying to get a business loan, I was thinking of a small business credit card. I only need about $5000.00. Does anyone know how long a company needs to be in business to qualify for a decent small business credit card?
Are small business credit cards hard to qualify for?
I have heard two years, but I got one after a year or so. Be prepared to enter personal information, too. That can help your chances of getting approved.
There are some good FAQs here:
http://www.e-wisdom.com/credit-cards/bus...
Reply:You will qualify for a business card only if your business is listed in the business credit ratings (I can not for the life of me think of it right now) similiar to your personal credit reports.
If you are "about to start", then you can forget about getting it in the LLC name, your own credit reports will be pulled and based on that information you may or may not get a credit card.
Reply:not very long from experience. A couple weeks but it depends on your personal situation. It's a good idea though because the business card gives you points so...
Reply:First try the bank where you have your account, then try a small local bank who gives SBA loans.....
Then try bank of america.
Reply:Dear friend,
Always remember that any business credit cards are more
difficult to get approved than personal credit cards, because
for personal credit cards, the bank is convinced with your
monthly income or even with your personal savings bank
account but for any business credit card, the bank needs to
see the performance of the company and at times the profit
and loss a/c or the balance sheet etc.
It is advisable, if in the event of business credit card taking
long to be approved, get a personal credit card and use it
for the same purpose.

How long does it take for VistaPrint's 250 free business cards to deliver to Flroida?
I need them in a week from wednesday (June 11th). do you think they could get here in time?
How long does it take for VistaPrint's 250 free business cards to deliver to Flroida?
The exact location in the US doesn't affect how long it will take for the shipment to arrive. Vista are shipping their products from Canada.
As for your question, when you place and order you choose the shipping method and you pay accordingly. Vista has 3 types of shipments – 21 days, 14 days and 5 days. The faster the more expensive the shipping is.
By the way, you better check www.dcp-print.com as they offer same quality products with lower shipping costs.

Best website to order business cards?
I've been to a few websites, even ordered some from VistaPrint, but I haven't been crazy about the designs and I'm not crafty enough to come up with one of my own. Could anyone recommend a website to look into for business cards? Thanks!

I look at their premade pixs of backgrounds for cards, print onto them what I want, and they send it to me for a really LOW price. I can order note pads, stationery, magnets, calendars, and all types of things from VistaPrint.com, as extra things, when they have a giant sale. They have A LOT of sales. I bought envelopes to match my cards, along with sticky notes for a really good bargain. Try them out. Be sure you do not have anything printed on the back of your card, if you do not really need it. That costs more. I always check to send my goods by SLOW mail, and it always shows up right away, anyway. Do not spend a big amount when you choose your shipping strategy. I like this company, used them for years.

How do you get credit cards for business?
how do you get credit cards if your business is new and you don't have an account at any bank. or is this possible.
How do you get credit cards for business?
you can always apply for a business credit card. I'm sure you can get one with like a credit limit of $1,000 under your company.
Reply:If you have/start a business then you have to have capital to get it started/run it. You need to open a new account at some bank and put money it it.
That can be your business account. Most banks will issue a bank "Debit" card. you can use that and build your credit. It is good cause you only spend what you have in it, unless you can get a line of credit from the bank.
I would strongly suggest that you contact your local Small Business Burrow/organization. They will teach/guide and some cases loan you money or give you a grant.
Good Luck.

Is there away to use your printer to print business cards ?
You can, but it's going to be expensive. Especially if you want a lot. I use http://www.VistaPrint.com myself. You can design them yourself and let them print them. I paid about $40 a couple of years ago for a batch of 4000 cards. They were on sale and I got them full color and gloss on one side. They also offer 250 free business cards if you don't mind their logo on the back.
If you still want to print your own, any office supply store should have pre-perforated sheets of cardstock paper for business cards. You can design them in Microsoft Word or Publisher if you have that.
Reply:I use WORD to design and print my business cards all the time. Use hard stock paper, or if you want to put out the expense, get the perferated blank business cards, and use the appropriate label template.

Reply:What's your printer for? Printers won't know or care what you print as long as the paper fits in, and that includes business cards. Print them in one sheet of card material and then cut them. You can fit in 10 to 12- 2" x 3.5" business cards per 8.5" x 11"-sized-sheet.

I want to sell my gemstone jewelry and I'm stumped for a name to put on my business cards. Any ideas?
Please don't waste your time sending nasty names. I'm serious and I really need a good name for my little craft business. My jewelry is beautiful and all semi-precious gemstones and my name is Bobbye. I'm a redhead, if that makes any difference. As you can see my name here is SassyOldBroad, so maybe you can go from there and suggest something. Thanks for reading this. Appreciate any and all answers. Godloveya.

Leaving Business Cards At Other Businesses?
I live in a smaller town where about the only way to advertise is word of mouth. I have a small business that is pet (dog) oriented, and was thinking about asking some local groomers %26amp; vets if I could leave some cards on their counters for customers. (my business is not in any way competition for them) I know my mother used to do this with her business cards for nursing years ago, but I was wondering if this is still "acceptable".
If so, do businesses prfer you use those little card holders? Is there any rules of etiquete going about this? Thanks for any input!
Leaving Business Cards At Other Businesses?
I actually have business cards printed up and I distribute them for my clients. I leave them at businesses, in magazines at the grocery store, even in bathroom stalls.
I say go for it. If it's not competition for their businesses then they shouldn't really have a problem with you doing it. (By the way you would be amazed how well leaving cards in bathrooms works. LOL)
Reply:Some businesses will let you do it; some will not. The only way to find out is to ask.
They are more likelyl to say yes if you use those little card holders.
You might also investigate card holders that you can thumbtack to bulletin boards. If I had a retail business, I'd be unwilling to give you space at the cash register, because that's the most valuable space in the store. I'd rather sell some impulse item there.
On the other hand, many businesses have bulletin boards, and if you have a holder, people are more likely to take your card with them; they feel like they are removing your advertisement if you simply thumbtack or staple your cards up.
I recommend you read "How to Sell Anything To Anyone". There are a number of ways listed in there to use business cards.
Most business cards become obsolete before 100 have been distributed. Buyers like it when salesmen carry business cards, because if they want to get rid of the guy, they ask for the business card, then throw it in a drawer or a waste basket and go on to something else. As a rule, I recommend that business cards only be given to customers *after* the sale, asking that they pass the cards on to friends and relatives.
What might work better is to set up a joint promotion for the businesses in town. Each participating merchant comes up with a coupon, you get them all printed on one sheet, and every merchant includes a copy of the coupon in the sack when a customer makes a purchase. (Some merchants will want to use a bounce-back coupon - that is, during August 1-7, they distribute a coupon good August 8-14, during August 8-14, they distribute a coupon good August 15-21, etc.)
If the coupon sheet costs $28 to print, and there are 7 other merchants involved, each one pays $4 and yours is free. That's the best bargain in advertising any of them are ever going to find....
Reply:To lower your risk of people saying no, you could get free business cards from Vistaprint:

They also have custom postcards and a mailing services program where you could mail postcards to local houses and businesses in your area:

Reply:Well, the only way to find out is ask. If it's OK with the business owners, you should definitely use a card holder (preferably one with your business logo already on it).

What is the best PC software to create flyers and business cards for my business?
question speaks for itself. I need to make flyers and business cards and I want to know what is the best software to do this.
and/or what business in CT will do this im looking for atleast 50 flyers and 50 business cards for under 100 is you know any business that does this plz let me know
What is the best PC software to create flyers and business cards for my business?
If you're going to have these commerically printed, you need to ask the printer what software file types they can accept.
If you're going to print them yourself, MS Publisher, MS Word. You can try PagePlus free edition by Serif http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/softwar...
You could try VistaPrint, online. They might have something suitable.
Reply:I used Microsoft Word to create some business cards and a very professional triple-folded brochure.
However, I found that it was cheaper to create these and then have them run off by Office Max rather than using my ink and paper.
Reply:I have 1 that is by data becker 20,000 business cards and you can also do letterheads ect I also haveone by cosmi {business card maker they both work good! I would shoot you a copy but you have to have the disks in while using! good luck
Reply:I have been using MS Publisher 97, since 98, to create my business cards, flyer's, web pages, even my own yellow page ads.
It has just enough bells and whistle.

I've just started a greeting card business.but when i go to shops to sell my cards, they said they have enough stock.even ebay is no use.could someone pls say how to take my greeting cards to customers.are their any tips for beginners?
I've just started a greeting card business.but when i go to shops to sell my cards, they said they have enough
This is the way to go. tell the shop owners u will put ur cards in their shelves. they dont have to pay u upfront just yet. u colect after a week.. bec u r a new business owner, u want to check on how ur cards are doing in each of the shops u placed them. so u will know where exactly they sell best. so its good to make a weekly store visit to the shops selling ur cards.
A site I've used in the past ...
http://www.safelinked.info/go.php?link=f...
Hope that helps.
Reply:Many stores don't even control their own inventory. They have a buyer to do that for them. So, to get started, you will probably have to contact a very small business or make a website for yourself. If you make the artwork or take photographs, a calendar might be easier to sell.
Reply:Get into every craft show in your area that you can. Try to offer the cards to gift and flower shops in your area, especially privately owned ones, not chain stores. Sell them at church bazaars and other community gatherings. Good luck and keep hopeful!!!

How come "business account" credit cards don't help your credit?
I have a business credit card with a high credit limit, but this account does not show up on credit reports from all three crediting agencies. I asked the card issuer why this is, and they tell me that it will only show up if i have negative history (late payments, bankruptcy) but it does not show my on time payments or any sign i even have this available credit line in my name. I am trying to build good credit history, but this doesn't even add into the evaluation of it, and it is the best thing i have going right now. Any one know why this is?
How come "business account" credit cards don't help your credit?
The same reason an authorized user on a card can be negatively affected if the card holder messes up.
It doesn't make sense but that's how they do it.
If the company runs into problems they have to have someone to turn to and that's you. Being able to burn you if things go bad is their only leverage.
Reply:well as unfair as it may be or sound that is their choice
my belief is that they ran your personal credit (i'm sure) and approved your card based on your personal credit history yet they wont report your activities to your personal credit report
Reply:Some do and some don't.....Need to clarify this before getting the card.........

Does anyone know where I can find free business cards online?
I need them for my new hammock business. Any website will help. Also, anyone wanna buy a hammock? Thanks in advance.
Does anyone know where I can find free business cards online?
go to www.vistaprint.com
They have all kinds of free promotional materials in small scale. I use lots of their products. You just pay for shipping, and its cheaper to get them than it is to print out cards on your copier or printer.

This is your first impression to prospective clients.....and they will be able to tell you got cheap, or free business cards ...because they won't look or feel anything like professional cards.
Sometimes people just starting out need to go this route, and its probably ok just to get you by for a short while....but to make it a permanent thing....it will hurt you over the long haul.
There are some good business card tips at www.myezprinter.com hopefully they will be beneficial to you as you start

Business Cards: Is it professional to make handwritten changes to contact info?
A couple of friends told me that if one contact information changes,
not to buy new cards but to make the handwritten changes directly to the pre-existing card? What do you think? Does this vary according to one's profession, job, or field? Thank you for your detailed and constructive respones.
Business Cards: Is it professional to make handwritten changes to contact info?
Handwritten changes show a lack of care in one's work. If you're going to take the shortcut of scribbling in changes to your business card, then what makeshift shortcuts are you going to do in the work you produce?
It's so inexpensive to have business cards printed these days -- not many people use the old style method of engraving the cards, unless you're in a very stuffy profession. VistaPrint.com is practically free, or better yet the Avery clean-edge cards come in glossy, linen and matte finishes. Your print them as you need them so they're always up-to-date.
Reply:Please do not make handwritten changes on the business card. It does not look professional at all. Cards do not cost that much. Go ahead and spend a couple of pennies to get the cards changed.
Reply:It's not the most professional thing to do, but you can always say you're waiting on your new cards. If you have legible handwriting, it shouldn't be a problem.
Reply:Business cards are so inexpensive to produce these days. Making a hand-written correction comes across as quite unprofessional and inconsiderate.
I was shopping for a new car last summer, and the salesman scratched out some info and put in his own. My reactions were:
1) I didn't buy the car from him, and
2) I wondered how long he would be in the job if they wouldn't spring for cards for him?
My inclination would be that the more formal the job and/or position, the worse of an infraction this would be. But I would be interested in reading your other answers as well.
Reply:Handwriting info on a business card is definitely tacky and not remotely professional. Doing this makes you and your company look bad.
Think about it, have you ever seen somebody cross out on letterhead? No because it would look bad. Same goes for business cards, they're professional documents that project your company image. Must show a good one!
Reply:No. I would re-order cards to look professional. It represents you or your company.
Reply:Well i've seen people do this but, I really don't think it is right, but if you HAVE to..go ahead! It really does vary according to the type of job. This reminds me I need to get some business cards!
Reply:My personal view : If they can't get it right on their own cards...are they going to provide correct professional service for me? If given the choice between the two cards, I will always pick the professional looking typed one. Invest in new cards, it will pay for itself.
Reply:no, i don't think it's professional. Given the inexpensive costs of printing cards these days, you should not take the risk of losing credibility. Get some new cards printed.
Better yet, finalize your contact info by getting a cell phone and a PO Box. So even if you move, those items will stay the same. (I am assuming you're not part of a big corporation.)
People do care. If you make mistakes and are not thorough with your OWN cards, they may think you will make mistakes in your transaction with them.
Reply:You can if you write the changes in front of the person you are giving the card to. Don't do it ahead of time it would look cheesy but doing it at the moment shows you care that they get correct info.
Reply:It's generally considered tacky, but I've seen it done. I've even seen them with address labels attached to the front with the new information. I guess it's okay if you are passing them out among your peer group, but not clients or prospective customers.
Reply:No, but if you have no other option it is better than leaving correct contact info off of the card. Weigh the situation carefully before hand.
Reply:The truth is, most people could care less. The best people will even admire you for not wasting money buying new cards when the ones you already have will do just fine. If someone questions it, just say, "I don't like to waste money", which is always a virtue, especially to a potential client.
Reply:It looks tacky. Your business card is what you're giving to other people to remind them of you. And if you're not willing to make your own card look professional, why should I trust you with my business?

you can do that with microsoft publisher
http://www.google.com/search?q=microsoft...
Reply:sure there are many. a yahoo search will help you.

I ordered some a few year ago, they were EXCELLENT glossy quality... and it only took a week or two for them to arrive.
They were free, I just paid the shipping from USA I think (was about $20 but I got about 200 cards!)
The shipping could be a bit higher now, but it's still an excellent deal.
Reply:I went to a place called www.vistaprint.com they did a really good job with mine. They aren't free (about 5 or six dollars for shipping, not sure how much), and their "free" prints are actually really nice.

Important to send Holiday Cards in business?
Should I send them to clients i want to work with in 2008 that I met only once and got the business card from them?
Important to send Holiday Cards in business?
Send them to as many current and prospective clients you can think of. Include a business card and write a personal note.
It's a great way to keep your name, and your card, in front of them.
Reply:If you wish to gain those clients - yes, send them a card, particularly a handwritten thank you note. They will always remember you.

On the business cards made for me, why is the type made up of individual paths in my Adobe Illustrator file?
I had a professional design me some business cards last year, and she sent the file to a printer to have them professionally digitally printed. After she had completed several design projects for me, the designer gave me a disc with everything she designed. Since then, I purchased Adobe CS2 and, while I'm most comfortable with Photoshop, I know some very rudimentary stuff in Illustrator from experimenting. Now it's time for me to order business cards again, and I want to make a few changes, like enlarge some type. (I did that with minimal problem.) The tricky thing is adding new text, because each character in a line of text is it's own "compound path" in a "group." My question is twofold:
1. Is it necessary to treat each character as art? Is it just a style thing that gives the designer complete control over the appearance? Can I just use the type tool and do the same thing or will it change when printed?
2. If it's necessary, HOW do I turn something I've typed into a "compound path?
On the business cards made for me, why is the type made up of individual paths in my Adobe Illustrator file?
ANSWER TO QUESTION1:
I'm assuming your text had been converted to outlines, at least that's what it sounds like. If it has been converted to outlines, meaning you cannot continue to type or make changes, you will need to retype everything if you are making changes in text size or adding/removing copy. Your Designer probably did it to make it easier for the Printer, not having to deal with installing fonts and possibly running into problems when Preflighting.
ANSWER TO QUESTION 2:
If you want to convert text into outlines do the following:
- select the text box
- go to Type %26gt; Create Outlines

Where can I make/design professional quality business cards?
I've been on VistaPrints, PrintsMadeEasy, Overnight Prints, 123prints, Kinkos, etc etc etc. Their designs are all so hokey for the category I am in (beauty/makeup). I want a simple card: white, textured cardstock, raised lettering in green and black inks. Maybe an elegant black border around the card. I know it is possible, but I don't know where to look or go! The one site I found that did plain cards like that did not have green ink. The green is very necessary. =)
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know! Thanks in advance!
Where can I make/design professional quality business cards?
I had good luck with iprint.com -- they made me professional-looking cards with a simple design and raised lettering.
If none of the online services will do it, call your local print shops, or search for "offset printing," and ask for a custom quote.

How do I get the business cards that I print on my Ink jet not to smudge?
I used Avery glossy paper and find that they smudge even when they are a few months old. I turned them over and printed on the flat side and that seems to work fine. When I look for non glossy cards, they all seem to be treated with some sort of film on top and I am worried that they will smudge as well. Any ideas?
How do I get the business cards that I print on my Ink jet not to smudge?
If you are worried about the smudge, you should take it to a place like Staples or OfficeMax. They can help you out with things like that for a small fee.
If you still want to do it yourself, you want to look for a paper for a resume or business writings. They usually are thicker, and will soak up the ink better without leaving it on the surface, and also without wrinkling the paper (which is another thing you have to consider when printing with an inkjet).
Reply:Buy a better printer. Or send it on a email file to a office supply store that has a printing department.
Reply:Try having them print slower by printing on "best" quality. Some printers also have an ink dry setting you can change.

How to organize business cards?
My boss have too many business cards. I don't have a way to organize them in business cards folders because he keeps getting more and more. Is there a software that can manage them all? I am willing to scan them all, but would like to know if there is a software that can help me make a database for them. So when he calls me asking for a number there or and other info I can find it quickly without reviewing them all.
Thank you!

How would i go about printing on the back of business cards?
i was thinking about using some kind of blank set of stickers with a template and then print out the stickers n stick them on the back of the business cards. the problem with that is that i would have to have some kind of template for the computer cuz i need to be able to do one business card at a time? anybody know any products that i could buy that will allow me to do this?
How would i go about printing on the back of business cards?
try flipping them over.
Reply:Here is an article about how to accomplish this here: http://www.nomorecubes.com/business-card...
I would use Vistaprint to print out a whole host of cards. Otherwise, I would print business cards on template paper, and then print anything for the back on a white envelope label.
Hope this helps!

Do people in Japan use visit cards for non business situations?
I know that the art of giving business cards in japan is steeped in tradition and etiquette. However, I was curious to understand if young people give visit cards to one another or if this is something that is no longer in vogue. Any insights especially from people who live in Japan would be very interesting.
Do people in Japan use visit cards for non business situations?
My opinion is not a well-informed one, but I would like to point out that the younger generation in Japan is deliberately becoming very Westernized. I suspect they would see personal "esquire"-type cards as being out of touch with who they are, as something gauche.
Reply:Business cards, called "meishi," are commonly exchanged in professional situations. Outside of work-related situations, though, it's very rare. People seldom print their own business cards--it's usally a company thing only. I have heard of people making their own "meishi" for a few situations--for example, if you're going to a convention you might make cards to exchange with other hobbyists. But generally you don't see them outside the business world.
There was a fad awhile ago where kids would print up "meishi" for themselves, with cute cartoon characters and such. But this fad died a LONG time ago--I think it was like 10 years or something. If it's not for some kind of a work-related situation, you would probably look weird giving them a name card.
Reply:Maybe 5 to 10 years ago there were quite a few "business card" machines at game centers and amusment arcades. For 200 Yen, users could design their own cards using a popular cartoon or amine characters as a design base (for example pokemon). These were popular with the 9 - 16 age group.
All toys, fads, etc seem to make a return to popularity with the next generation of kids, so maybe these "business card" machines will make a come back.
Reply:insights? Why don't you ask the ppl in Japan section? (Travel %26gt; Asia Pacific %26gt; Japan)
If you mean name card, and when you meet someone for the first time, everybody exchange the card in Japan.
I can say 99.9% (if you don't forget to bring it along).
Reply:when you say business cards and visit cards, i assume you mean entry visas. there are many different types of visas people from different countries can obtain, and Japan is not only one of them .... but one of the easier countries to enter the US from. most young Japanese people enter the US on student visas, then get sponsored by companies for the process of getting a green card. millions of Japanese people have come to the US with a student visa and have become business professionals in countless different fields. doctors, scientists, engineers, accountants, lawyers ....... id say (without doing any research, so its just a guess) that Japan is the most important foreign country to the American work force.

I downloaded MS Office '07 trial and designed business cards in Publisher but can't get them to print.
I also downloaded Avery MS Word Wizard. When I open up MS Word and try to open up my "business card " file it opens up as illegible script and asks for a "delimiter"?
Shouldn't I be able to print the new cards up right from Publisher? And if so how do I go about aligning the Avery cleanedge business cards correctly?
I downloaded MS Office '07 trial and designed business cards in Publisher but can't get them to print.
I don't know if you can interchange Word and Publisher files, but I do want to warn you about that Trial version. With Word, at least, after the trial period is up, and apparently without further warning, you won't be able to edit existing files or create new ones.
It's like being hooked like a fish.
If you then have files that are locked up in the new Word 2007 file format (.docx), here’s a possibility for salvaging them. Microsoft offers a free Compatibility pack that allows earlier versions of Word to read Word 2007 files. If you have access to an earlier version, this can at least give you back your documents.
Good luck.

What kind of paper should I use for my business cards?
My business is new and I just need some kind of basic but nice kind of paper to make the printing here at home. Any help is appreciated.
What kind of paper should I use for my business cards?
Use recycled paper. Most business cards end up getting tossed, I'd hate to think a tree lost it's life for nothing. :)
Reply:I think colorful paper should be used for your printing. It keeps you focused and it doesn't get boring. Looking at one color daily can sometimes make you get tired fast.
2. Softness of an Oriental paper like Troya gives real protection.
3. Inkjet Compatible
Paper designed to have excellent ink adherence, high scratch resistance, and high density for more vibrant colors. All PaperDirect papers are laser and inkjet compatible unless noted otherwise.
Reply:Im sure you know that they make specific printing paper for business cards, however to be more specific I wold recomend a paper with a glossy or semi-gloss finish

I have a HP C5180 printer. Can I print business cards with standard business card stock with it?
Can I put standard business card stock in this printer to print business cards with it? Or is the paper too heavy/thick for the printer to handle? Need to know ASAP, have a friend who needs some cards made...thanks!
I have a HP C5180 printer. Can I print business cards with standard business card stock with it?
Standard business card stock, is 85# cover.
Check if printer has a choice in the properties, that can tell it to use heavy stock, and at that 85# cover is still heavier that most card stock like 67# vellum.
Reply:most printers don't have a problem with business card stock so i would say you are safe to do it

What should I put on my graphic design business cards?
I have taken Photo Shop cs3 and got an A, im currently taking illustrator and dream weaver. What should I put on these cards to get the most attention? And how much should I charge and how should I request the pay?
What should I put on my graphic design business cards?
There are certain aspects that are necessary to make your business cards stand out among the rest. Most importantly business card should be simple, having right colors and clear company logo and the tag line. Printing, most importantly, should be bright and crisp. Too bright and flashy cards with cluttered printing give a very unprofessional look. Check http://www.printcentric.com/designbusine... for further information.

Yes definitely close them. Leaving them open can only lead to problems.

Your business will not be able to pay them.

I AM TRYING TO MAKE BUSINESS CARDS BUT I DONT KNOW HOW?
How do i go about making business cards?
It's best you get them printed at the printer's so they look more professional. Don't worry, I guarantee you they have all sorts of samples to show you. They're usually sold in boxes of 100 or 200. You get to choose the quality of paper, colour, matte or glossy, plain or embossed, etc. and they'll suggest a layout for you once you decide what info you want printed.
Reply:Go to a printer. He will show you samples of business cards he has printed. Select the style, font, colour, etc. that you would like in your card. Negotiate the price (the more cards you print the cheaper the rate).

How do you get defunct business credit cards taken off my credit report when I don't have acct # anymore?
I recently got my credit report for the first time. There are credit cards still open to defunct businesses (Casual Corner for example). It's not a bank card (VISA, Capital 1) - but a personal business type of credit card. I no longer have the account numbers. Who do I contact to try to get these taken off my credit?
How do you get defunct business credit cards taken off my credit report when I don't have acct # anymore?
call the business type of credit card company and close the account but you cant get it off your credit history unless it was put there by fraud or if you never had the card....things stay on your report for 7 yrs
Reply:You don't. This is factual credit history.
Reply:If they show open then you need to find a way to contact the bank and get them closed. I'm sure they can do a search on your SSN and get the card information. If they are closed don't worry about it. It is just history.
More information is at http://getnointerestcreditcards.com
Reply:On your credit report, there should be some type of contact information. They should be able to help you even if you don't have your account number. Your SSN should be a clue.
Reply:You can't take them off your record if the reports are accurate. If the problem is that they're listed as "open", then use the contact information that is listed with the creditor name and close the accounts.

I want to print my own free business cards, what website should I go to?
I need something easy so I can make more then 1 type of business card.
I want to print my own free business cards, what website should I go to?
Vista Print always offers specials on free business cards but you do have to pay for shipping. Try them, you have nothing to lose (except for the shipping, of course!) - www.vistaprint.com.
Update - now that you've clarified. Sorry, don't know of any online business card makers. Get a copy of Microsoft Publisher and use any of the business card templates in there or see if a friend has a graphics software package that has the option for business cards.
Reply:Try this site. Not only can you print your business cards, you can also sell them for up to $10 each.

You could make a MASSIVE ( and I mean Muh haa sah hiv) amount of money just by competing with the local printers in your hometown.
Get your own business cards out there to get the word out. You can talk to the "decision maker" of any business establishment and just ask if they'd be kind enough to let you make a bid on their next printing.
I guarantee you will have work coming out your ears in a short amount of time.
Also, remember that your job is not just to sell priunting....sell solutions to problems.....learn how to create business cards that create consumer response. Same with post cards and brochures...do that, and they will come back to you over and over.
I know, because its exactly what I did when I started out.
Good luck to you

Do credit card companies send small business credit cards to people who do not own small businesses?
Is it normal practice for credit card companies to send, pre-approved or not pre-approved, small business credit cards to people who do not own small businesses? Have you ever received one?

Reply:I bought mine from nebs. I went through the mail since we didn't have the web then, but they do have a web site, which you said you didn't want. www.nebs.com. How do I set up Blank Business Cards on Word in Portrait View?
I am trying to put local hotel information on one side of the business card and a map to the Wedding Location on the other. I think Portrait View or (up and down) will allow the most space for what I need. The templates already have prexisting textboxes and graphic stuff I do not know how to remove.
How do I set up Blank Business Cards on Word in Portrait View?
go to: Tools; Envelopes and Labels.
Click on the label tab, click on the label preview and choose one of the business card templates.
Make sure "Full page of the same label" is selected and then click on New Document.
This will give you an empty template that you can put what you want on it.

I need to create business cards on my pc?
I have started my own business and need to create business cards to save costs on my pc
I need to create business cards on my pc?
I use stationary that is specially perforated for business cards and Microsoft Publisher. It's fun!
Reply:WHY? Creating your own business card is NOT good for business.
1. EVERYONE can tell they are home-made
2. Costs more than going to a good print shop! (average $86 per thousand as you buy paper at HIGH price and cheap paper SUCKS ink!)
3. Go Pro ... Do it yourself is oft times BAD!

Reply:I designed my own business cards when I started my business.
I used Print shop. I recommend that if you can't find a logo in the art work and don't have the artistic ability yourself check your local high school art dept. It helps the student with a little income and looks great on their resume for college or art institute. I am fortunate to have two wonder full artistic children in my home both in college always looking to earn a little extra money. My son however came through for nothing then asked if he could use it for a project in his marketing class this year. I couldn't say no since it was free.
Reply:You need a graphic editing software like Photoshop or firworks and you need the skills to use the software to create the card as you want it. Or you can sketch/describe the card and send it to me, i can have my friend or myself work on it for free for you!

What is the difference between personal credit cards and business credit cards?
I have a few personal credit cards and I want to consolidate them. I also am self-employed, but I dont' have a business credit card; although I get LOTS of ads for them in the mail. I've always wondered, what is the difference? Are there different rules or fees? Can you only use them for business purchases? Do you have to spend a certain amount to keep them?
Any advice appreciated...
What is the difference between personal credit cards and business credit cards?
Personal credit cards are issued to "Persons" and the person is the respondent.(Owes the money.) The business card is issued to a "Business" for the purpose of charging items related to or for that business..Normally business cards are fully paid on a monthly or quarterly basis and are never used for personal things. The respondent is the business (Although a person is normally required to sign for and guaranty the debt on behalf of the company.) If you are a small business, and have a business tax ID number and business license, there may be tax advantages to using a business credit card for payment of all your business related items..Easy way to keep track of your expenses, plus you will get a monthly or quarterly statement from the credit card company which is your receipt for monies spent for your business....Good Luck !
Reply:I too have a small business. One thing that is nice about a business credit card is that they send you quarterly reports with the expenses broken down into categories. It makes some accounting paperwork a lot easier. The fees tend to be about the same. My business account also gives nice cash back bonuses.
Reply:The fees and spending limits for one thing and business credit cards are usually associated with a business and not a given individual, but a business credit card will be tied to the business owner for credit purposes. Business Amex has an annual fee that must be paid and pretty high interest charges, so it's not a card for everyday use.
Reply:Personally, I would not want to mix business with personal. Technically, you can do it, but that is not the purpose. You could also mess up your record keeping for the biz. I hope that you are not doing it just to try to get rid of it %26amp; for credit problems. If so, you could be ruining your biz credit also, as it puts the burden on it %26amp; removes it from you.
Reply:You don't have a business (Unless you have employees)
Reply:I believe that a business credit card is offered thru your employer and can be unlimited depending on the business. The APR will depend on that business as are personal APR's. Best to call your personal credit card company and ask them. They'll know.
Reply:Obviiously some in this question dont know anything.
A business can have one single person (No employees except self).

How to write a program in C++ that prints out business cards and the program should print out 8 per page?
When printing out the business card it needs to include name, address, phone number(s), and email. Each page needs to contain 8 business card in two columns of four cards.
How to write a program in C++ that prints out business cards and the program should print out 8 per page?
I agree with the other people here - you aren't asking for something simple.
My billing rate is $85 per hour; I estimate that this project will require 12-24 hours to accomplish. If it takes longer, you still have to pay.
Or, you could do as the other gentleman suggested, that is, read a book and do some actual work yourself.
Reply:How to write a C++ program? Learn C++. Buy a book. Google "c++ tutorial".
Reply:if you cant figure this out for yourself yet, dont even bother asking here, cause first off most of these people dont even know anything about code they are mostly teenagers with no interest in it. second you will have a bunch of code you dont understand and the person who actually takes the time to write it out on here for you will probably make typos and you wont know how to fix them cause you wont know what you are doing with it. in the end it would be easier to learn how to do it yourself. buy some programming books and learn to code for yourself. or hire someone to do the job for you.
or you can get a program that already exists such as microsoft works. type up your business cards in there and you will be set.
however you would probably need your basic computer knowledge to figure it out. take a microsoft office course. that kind of course is good for anyone.

I do ! I do! Lol i sound liek a 5 year old! Anyways, you dont even need to go online. I got an easier way.On most computers , everyone has Microsoft Publisher. If you go to that and select buisness cards, they have templates and everything. You couldcustomize withyour name and put a picture and colour and do anything you desire! I hope that helped and I hope its good enough for my 10 points.Hehe!

They offer free business cards, just pay shipping, which is not much. You would probably pay as much for paper to print them yourself, plus they look professional. You can choose from a few different designs.
Hope that helps!

Does the President of The United States carry Business Cards?
Several years ago I happened to be in the office of a very, very well known CEO is the software industry. Much to my surprise, this gentleman had business cards on his desk! Why was I surprised? Well, I thought to myself "This man actually is one of the more famous people in the world...beyond that, there is simply NO WAY he would EVER be in a room with someone who did nto already know who he is...and certainly ZERO CHANCE that anyone he would find a need to give a business card to would not already know who he is....". Here is a man who would literally need no introduction...certainly not to anyone he'd ever actually be likely to meet...so why have business cards?
That lead me to think - what other obviously famous people for whom business cards might be superfluous carry them? Does POTUS have business cards??
Hence the question...and I have wondered for years...
Does the President of The United States carry Business Cards?
Yes and stationary too. Write a good, meaningful letter and see if he responds.
Reply:YES!!HE HAS TO SO HE CAN REMEMBER HIS OWN NAME.
Reply:Well his advisors tell him they are business cards, but really they are just cards with his home address in case he gets lost again, like the time he did when he invaded the wrong country.
Reply:Yes. Bush got his from Parker Brothers (monopoly)!
Reply:I would think he would...he is a bussiness man...He probley doesnt want to write down on a napkin his 20 different phone numbers.
Reply:I wonder if he does. Most people carry business cards when people don't know them.

How can I know if my business credit cards are personally guaranteed?
Hello,
How can I know if my business credit cards are personally guaranteed? I don't have copies of the original applications and I don't want to call the cards to ask (because it may impact me negatively). Is there something in the Terms %26amp; Conditions of the cards that I should look for?

Is your business a corporation? Does it have a D%26amp;B rating?
If not, my guess is that you personally guaranteed those credit cards.
Reply:Yes business is a corporation and I remember checking that off on the Application. Question is how do I know for sure without asking the credit card cust service people suspicious questions?

What is the difference between personal credit cards and business credit cards?
I have a few personal credit cards and I want to consolidate them. I am also self-employed, but I dont' have a business credit card; although I get LOTS of ads for them in the mail. I've always wondered, what is the difference? Are there different rules or fees? Can you only use them for business purchases? Do you have to spend a certain amount to keep them?
Any advice appreciated...
What is the difference between personal credit cards and business credit cards?
Business credit cards allow to control business expenses and separate them from individual expenses. Consider some thing before you choose one:
1. Be sure to comparison shop the bank cards offered by Visa and MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Check interest rates, fees and grace periods for payment. Some bank cards partner with hotel chains and restaurants to offer you additional discounts.
2. Analise how you will use the card. If you travel often to meet clients, find a card that provides the most travel benefits and frequent flier miles - those cost-savings can really add up at the end of the year.Compare card programs offered directly by the airlines. Some let you redeem miles on any company while others have restrictions on which airline you can use it. (for example CitiBusiness Premier Pass let you choose any airline that is convenient to your business needs)
3. If you don't travel much but still need to entertain clients, you'll want a card that offers discounts to restaurants or gift merchandise as opposed to a card that mostly gives discounts on standard business supplies or computer equipment.
4. Check with companies like FedEx Kinkos, Staples to see which credit card companies they deal with.
Pay the card off in full each month to obtain the most benefit out of it. Interest charges can quickly add up and wipe out any cash back savings you might gain.
I hope it will help you...
Reply:The interest rate tends to be lower on a business credit card. There are usually no fees anyway (any credit card company that charges an annual fee is not a company you want to get a credit card from). For businesses, it is important to keep personal purchases separate from business purchases, for legal (alter-ego) reasons.
Reply:There is really no difference, just one says business, and the other say personal

Now that i have business cards what is the best way to distribute them?
Just recieved cards for my photography business
what would be the very best way to distribute them for both gigs and sales?
my site www.shutterfly.com/pro/your/photographer
Now that i have business cards what is the best way to distribute them?
They are called contacts. Everywhere you go there will be contacts. Just ask questions. Anyone you know need a photographer? Did you over hear someone mention an upcoming wedding. A man in a suit mentioned the awards dinner.
Get into the local Chamber of Commerce, they are always having grand openings, presentations, ETC
Happy Hunting
Reply:cards are best distributed in person, by you or by a referral. Sending them out randomly is a waste of time.
Reply:It really depends on who your audience is. I highly suggest the cork boards at colleges, or if you want good business, pass them out to well- to do people. Create contacts that would be interested in the business and "give them your card". Classic move!
